"Mistress Mary, quite contrary" moves to her uncle's house in the Yorkshire countryside, where she discovers the beauty of a hidden garden surrounded with painful memories. Tasha Tudor's watercolors enlighten the text brilliantly. A favorite book from my own childhood, the combination of story and paintings are sure to inspire young readers as they did me.
