I had seen this movie some time ago, and decided I would like my own copy to watch again. The acting is good, and it portrays well what can happen when pride enters in and takes over a church. The contrast between the huge city church and the inner city church is very clear, as are the conflicts that occur when attempting to hold on, when threatened, to what was built with much love and care for the people of the community. The change in the senior pastor's son and his stand with the inner city pastor is definitely a work of God. I could watch this movie many times over.
Our family loves this movie. This movie is about God's amazing grace. When we are saved we are forgiven of our sins, past, present and future. When we are saved our lives are changed, but we all have some areas that we struggle with and that only The Lord can help us overcome. This is something that the pastor in this movie has struggled with and is working with the The Lord to overcome. It is a tiny part of the movie which takes place in the worst part of the city. FWIW there are no "very bad" words in this movie. The pastor in the movie and his wife do amazing things for the poor, lost and forgotten in this movie. Isn't this what the Bible calls us to do?
