BookwormAge: 25-344 Stars Out Of 5Fabulous charactersJune 4, 2014BookwormAge: 25-34I've never read anything by Lisa Wingate that I didn't love.
The Sea Glass Sisters is a heartwarming, inspiring read. It's a prequel to The Prayer Box, and introduces wonderful, warm, unforgettable characters.
Family is important, especially the relationship between women, the nurturers of the human race. This story reveals the dynamics between sisters and daughters.
If you've ever lived on an island, or wanted to, you'll enjoy this book.
Virginiaupstate NYAge: 35-44Gender: female4 Stars Out Of 5InterestingMay 28, 2014Virginiaupstate NYAge: 35-44Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 4This is a novella and prequel to the novel The Prayer Box. Because it is a novella, it is rather short and a light read. I did enjoy it but wished for more of the story and what happened to the characters. Maybe I will find out when I read The Prayer Box.
CurledUpWithaBookThe MaritimesAge: Over 65Gender: female4 Stars Out Of 5Light reading but interesting!January 16, 2014CurledUpWithaBookThe MaritimesAge: Over 65Gender: femaleQuality: 4Value: 5Meets Expectations: 4I enjoyed this book. Nothing deep but just a nice story about two sisters who have drifted apart and don't see eye to eye. Sometimes we just need to take the time to see life from someone else's perspective.
BarbVirginiaAge: Over 65Gender: female4 Stars Out Of 5Weathering the Storms of LifeNovember 1, 2013BarbVirginiaAge: Over 65Gender: femaleQuality: 4Value: 4Lisa Wingate uses, very effectively, a horrifying hurricane as an appropriate analogy for the life storms that strike us all at various times--threatening to demolish all that we hold dear and to render us victims rather than survivors.
The main characters are drawn into each others deepest heart issues by circumstances of life that could wreak disastrous emotional tolls if they do not lean into the LORD's grace and acceptance.
What a heart-tugging experience she weaves. This book is just too short; I would liked to have had a bit more closure on some of the issues!

I guess I just expected it to reference Christianity and faith more. Perhaps give the plan of salvation somehow.
