The reviewer David gave this book 1 star! That is outrageous. It's obvious he did not even read the book and is some atheist with an axe to grind. And someone is marking positive reviews as "No". No doubt this book was posted on some atheist blog and they came here without even reading the book to cause trouble and make the book look bad. NT Wright has done a masterful and very balanced (contrary to David's assertion) treatment of Christ's resurrection. This book is long, but it's well worth the time invested!

this book is not an even handed exploration of the subject. it is basically a conservative christian apologetics book with a slanted presentation that is going to send many people off half cocked thinking they have it all squared away.

the subject matter of the book is too important of a subject and it deserves better than the treatment given here in this book.

Wright misrepresents the issue of the beliefs of the afterlife in the ANE and hellenism, leaves out important information therein, and then gives the sparsest of alternate explanations worthy of considering when trying to assess the historicity of the resurrection, then more or less pronounces that there ya go folks, see its all true just like the narratives say it is in the gospels.

I'm not saying that it's not true, i'm just saying, this book does not strike me as a fair and judicious presentation of the subject in the ways mentioned above, which are at the heart of the whole question in the first place.

Bishop Wright at his best. Prepare to re-read portions to fully understand. This is a must for serious Bible students!

Astonishing for its depth, everything is covered here. This is the most in depth look at the resurrection in print and reinforces in so many ways the Scriptural accounts.
