The Resurrected Jesus will engage learners in a study of the Easter event following the discovery of the empty tomb, and follow the risen Christ in his post-resurrection appearances to the women, the disciples, and the church. In addition to the Gospel stories about the events following the Resurrection, this study explores the nature of resurrection, some of the apostle Paul's teaching about resurrection and its meaning, and how modern disciples live as post-Resurrection Christians.
The Resurrected Jesus guides learners through the post-Resurrection appearances and events. This eight-session study examines: narrative studies on the discovery of the empty tomb and the power of remembrance, the appearance on the way to Emmaus and who he was in the breaking of bread, Jesus' appearances, Thomas's opportunity to see for himself, Peter's transforming "reunion," Saul's conversion, an explanation of the resurecction by those who believed and those (the Sadducees) who didn't, exploration of the meaning of the Crucifixion and the Ascension for disciples through the ages. Uses the New Revised Standard Version and the New International Version. Appropriate for individual and group study.
