The Radicals is based on Myron Augsburger's acclaimed book. Here is the story of Michael and Margaretha Sattler and the beginnings of the Anabaptist movement in the 16th century Europe. Michael was a monk and Margaretha a nun. They both left their religious orders in search of a New Testament faith. Their brief marriage was terminated when Michael was burned at the stake and Margaretha drowned in May 1527 for their crucial role in the formation of the radical Anabaptist movement. Approx. 100 minutes. Special Features:
Chapter titles provided for easy scene access
Chapter introductions by John E. Sharp, Mennonite historian
Interview with Myron Augsburger, Pilgrim Aflame author
Inspirational. Helps define the place of the Christian in the world, seeking first the Kingdom of God; being in the world but not of the world. A reminder that power and religion mixed together without the knowledge of Jesus Christ leads to the same kind of hate the Pharisees had towards Jesus. Leads to the cross. Which leads to growth of new believers. I have not had a chance yet to view the special features, but look forward to it. It also reminds us that the backdrop of history will define the refining process for a Christian.
