Product Description

In The Queen of the Frogs by Davide Cali and illustrated by Marco Soma, there is a little pond where all the frogs live in harmony, catching and eating flies and singing their songs every night. One day, a strange object is dropped into the water---a shiny crown befitted for a king or a queen, except frogs don't have a king or a queen. But when one of the frogs is the fastest and puts the crown on, all the other frogs declare her queen. Having a queen is okay at first, but after a time the other frogs become resentful for having to do all the work for the queen. When these subjects begin to question her authority, she must prove that she's fit to rule, if she can.

Publisher's Description

An enchanting modern fable

The frogs enjoy their life at the pond, filling their days with fly brunches and night music. But one day a little frog finds a crown at the bottom of the pond and is instantly pronounced a queen. She starts doing what queens do: making demands and expecting others to serve her. But when her royal subjects start to question her authority, she must prove she's fit to rule—if she can.

Reminiscent of Aesop's fables, this beautifully illustrated book is sure to start a discussion about the concept of leadership and the importance of humility.
