Author/Artist Review

Author: Cindy Starr Stewart

Tell us a little about yourself.  My husband, Lance, and I are raising our five children in Grove City, PA where we met and fell in love during college. I knew from the time I was a little girl that I wanted to follow in my mother’s footsteps and be a teacher. Even though I found teaching physics to be fun and rewarding, teaching from the Word of God is my true passion and calling. It is my love for the Lord and the desire to trust and obey Him that leads me to speak and write about my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

What was your motivation behind this project?  As a Physics Instructor at a Public University, the Lord continued to remind me that I was there to shine His light. As we learned about how lamps work in the classroom, the Lord continued to show me how we are all created to shine His light. For two years the Lord kept asking me to write the story down, but I did not know how to do that. Then one night after being out at a ministry event, the Lord just "downloaded" the story. I wrote only what I heard him speaking to my heart and the story was done. It took two more years for those words to make it into this beautiful book. It is such an honor to carry this story forward.

What do you hope folks will gain from this project?  A deeper relationship with the Lord. I pray that those who hear this story will receive Jesus as their personal Savior and get plugged into the power of The Holy Spirit. This book is really a family book that is applicable for all ages. It is a powerful and relavent metaphor that is unque in its style and presentation.

Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists?  I love Come Away My Beloved by Frances J. Roberts. I love the feel of Max Lucado books as well as Dr. Seuss. I love Beth Moore Bible studies and Experiencing God by Henry Blackaby.
