Debbie Williams helps women realize through biblical teaching and true life stories that settling for less in life is not an option when things dont turn out as planned. Rather than simply accepting failure or settling for less in what the world calls Plan B, women can approach life with their own Plan A spirit and let God reignite their hopes and dreams.
Women grow up dreaming of the life they hope to have. Many have prince charming in their plans. Perhaps a good career, long life, happy and obedient children, and good health. But plans often do not materialize in the reality of their lives. Marriages fail in alarming numbers, health problems arise, parenting turns out to be a much tougher job than expected, and all of a sudden Plan B sets in. In this bold and uplifting book by Debbie Williams you will discover that, no matter where Plan B has you headed, you dont have to simply discard the Plan A Woman you always wanted to be. In fact, even in the harshest head winds of struggle Williams encourages and inspires you at every turn to move from the discouragement of the Plan B world into the fulfillment and overpowering joy of Gods Plan A for your life.
- Encouraging true stories of women who have faced Plan B disappointments and tragedies and trusted God to fulfill their hopes and dreams.
- Gives practical advice from women on how to have a Plan A spirit.
- Helps women gain a sense of humor about Plan B circumstances.
- Helps women discover and unarm land mines that can maim relationships and emotions when Plan B circumstances arise.
Williams offers biblically-based counterpoints to what she refers to as "land mines" of negative thinking, and she provides anecdotal support of her main points for each chapter. Each segment also highlights a woman of the Bible who struggled with that chapters issue and Williams speculates about what it must have been like for her. Jeremiah 29:11, which says, "'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the Lord, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future,'" is an overall theme verse for this book. Throughout the book, Williams strives to make sure her readers are aware that God is sovereign over whatever situation they may find themselves in and that good can always come out of it.
Williams writes in a way that immediately captivates readers and leaves them wanting to continue turning pages. The Plan A Woman in a Plan B World is comprised of three main sections: live out loud, love out loud, and laugh out loud. Live out loud concentrates on stopping negative thinking and viewing circumstances from a new light. Love out loud is made to take reading the book to the next level by sharing it with friends and this part even includes discussion questions. Laugh out loud is a section for recording the little things in daily life that make the reader laugh, to help establish a new habit of seeing the good in everything. Each section is skillfully written and bursting with biblically sound advice and knowledge.
The writing in this book is strong and will prove to be useful to women ranging from high school age to older generations. This book is great when read alone, but is written in such a way as to allow it to be easily used in pairs or group studies. Single or married, young or old, The Plan A Woman in a Plan B World will be beneficial for women of all ages and walks of life. I would highly recommend this book to all Christian females looking for focus, direction, motivation, and encouragement. Sarah Sawicki, www.ChristianBookPreviews.com
Cafe Lily Book Reviews3 Stars Out Of 5August 11, 2010Cafe Lily Book ReviewsThis is an interesting book because the author shares true stories of real women who have had to go with Plan B and then combines those stories with biblical truths. The Plan A Woman in a Plan B World is about giving your dreams to God and allowing HIM to be in charge. Many times, we try to direct our own steps and then face huge disappointments because weve wanted life to go our way instead of being in the center of Gods will. One of my favorite parts of the book is right in the beginning where Debbie gives biblical examples of women who had to go with Plan B: (Eve, Noahs wife, Sarah, Rachel, Leah, etc) It was humorous to read yet showed very applicable examples that sometimes, life just doesnt go as planned. Debbie addresses what she calls land mines, which are actually nine areas in a Christians life where they might be tempted to put their faith on a shelf and give up. She writes about how to keep these land mines disarmed and live out the blessings of a life built on faith and trust in God.
Edna Tollison4 Stars Out Of 5July 8, 2010Edna TollisonI like Debbie's passion for helping women find their purpose in life and the Biblical examples she uses as the foundation of her teachings. Debbie does a brilliant job in giving the reader God's perspective in seeing life's circumstances from His view and in reading the first couple of chapters, the book has helped me understand how God has created a Plan A woman in a Fallen Plan B world and he has A+ plans for my life. This is a must "read" for any woman who might say, "My life hasn't turned out the way I had planned.". You'll walk away from reading this book trying to accept what God has allowed and become a woman of renewed purpose. You'll want to buy a copy for everyone you know!

Abi5 Stars Out Of 5June 14, 2010AbiMy Review:If I was looking for a book to help me in living my life according to God's Plan then this would be one I would consider reading. Very well written and easy to read and follow. I totally enjoyed this book much better then another Plan B book I read here in the last few weeks. I say two thumbs up on this one. Scripture is what the author turns to at every turn in the plan. The author lets the reader know that even our PLAN B or C or D can be used and made into God's PLAN A if we allow Him to work His PLAN. The book is divided into three parts~ * Live out Loud * Love out Loud * Laugh our LoudThere are discussion starter questions to help stimulate:spiritual mattersprovide forum to grow spirituallyhelp to encourage self and othersThe author gives land mines that you may faces and ways to disarm the land mines as they come along.PLAN B may not be your ideal, but God can still use it for His PLAN A if you will let Him.
