Caldecott-winning illustrator Peter Spier will take readers on a visual tour of America, from the Founding Fathers' expressing their vision of a democratic ideal, to a new nation, and finally to the modern, diverse country we live in today. The lively artwork is accompanied by the full text of the US Constitution, an illustrated preamble, and a facsimile edition of the original document.
