Ellen’s husband has recently died by the hand of El Diego. With no reason left to live except to care for her young daughter, Ellen waits in terror for the day when El Diego comes to take their ranch and their lives. When the horsemen arrive on that beautiful spring day, is it the end she has been fearing, or has God answered her prayer and sent a Savior? In this parable of divine love, we journey with Ellen in a gripping tale of love and fear, life and death—that will speak to the deepest places of your heart.
nelleIowaAge: 55-65Gender: female4 Stars Out Of 5A little looongJanuary 26, 2017nelleIowaAge: 55-65Gender: femaleQuality: 4Value: 4Meets Expectations: 4The book had parts in it where the descriptions and conversations went on and on. I didn't appreciate having to flip back and forth to the end notes to read the English translation of the Spanish. I stopped doing it after awhile. It was unlike any book I've ever read. I don't think I would ever search out another book by this author, but if I happened upon one I might read it.
AngieTulsa, OklahomaAge: Over 65Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5This is a parable of God's love and goodness.March 2, 2014AngieTulsa, OklahomaAge: Over 65Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Dona Ellena is an exceptional read. Throughout the book one is introduced to new and intriguing characters, the most amazing one is Don Carlos himself. The parable is sometimes obvious, and many times subtle. It challenged my own responses and reactions to life's tribulations. And at the end it left me with a wonderful glow in my heart, knowing that my Heavenly Father loves me greatly and desires to bless me beyond my wildest dreams and expectations. I need only to yield to His gentle guidance.

The Biblical allegories leap off the page. There is enough excitement combined with conflict and resolution to keep you turning the pages. You will not want to put this book down once you start it. This book is on the top of my list for great reads.
