The Alden children are off to Florida with Grandfather to visit the Everglades National Park to help one of his friends. Andrew Beldon, a park ranger, has been missing for days but nobody knows, or seems to care, where he is. The Boxcar Children know a mystery when they see one, and they decide to follow the clues deep into the Everglades to solve it!
The Aldens travel to the Florida Everglades to search for a missing park ranger. While gathering clues, they learn about about his interest in the endangered Florida panther. Does the wild cat hold the secret to the ranger’s whereabouts?
Gertrude Chandler Warner was born in 1890 in Putnam, Connecticut, where she taught school and wrote The Boxcar Children because she had often imagined how delightful it would be to live in a caboose or freight car. Encouraged by the book's success, she went on to write eighteen more stories about the Alden children.
