The Odes of Solomon small enigmatic texts discovered more than 200 years ago have now compiled a small library discussing them. His commentary is an attempt to provide a critical and engaging commentary on the textual data and all relevant topics that are concerned with the textual information. Grammatical, historical, literary, and many other topics are discussed in reference to the Odes in clear insightful manner with scholarly rigor and with a view of describing the entirety of the book. The Hermeneia is designed for the serious student of the Bible. It will make full use of ancient Semitic and classical languages; at the same time English translations of all comparative materials-Greek, Latin, Canaanite, or Akkadian-will be supplied alongside the citation of the source in its original language. Insofar as possible, the aim is to provide the student or scholar with a full critical discussion of each problem of interpretation and the primary data upon which the discussion is based.
