Product Description

Hey Mom! Can we Talk? It seems like only yesterday she was running to you with skinned knees and lost mittens. Now she barricades herself in her room, music blaring, with phone fused to one ear. When you try to talk with her, she rolls her eyes and exclaims, "Mo-om! You just don't understand". If you're beginning to despair of ever being a meaningful part of your daughter's life again, take heart! The Mother Daughter Connection is full of "stuff you gotta know" to form a closer, more satisfying bond with the young woman in your life. Get the "inside scoop" on how to cope with the emotional roller coasters of puberty; anticipate the questions your teen may be too embarrassed to ask; make your home a place your teen and her friends want to be.

Publisher's Description

The Mother Daughter Connection is a book designed to help mothers form intimate, working relationships with their daughters by giving mothers an insider's view of their daughters' thoughts and feelings. The editor of Brio magazine for girls and a veteran youth expert, Susie Shellenberger helps mothers understand the angst and confusion teen girls feel when coping with such issues as body image, fashion envy, dating, fear of failure, and sharing one's faith. With creative questions, conversation starters, and diary entries, mothers are given the tools to not only help their daughters, but also to learn the "stuff they gotta know" to help their daughters survive the teenage years.

Author Bio

Susie Shellenberger travels as a fulltime speaker forty weeks or weekends every year. She has written fifty-two books, and lives in Bethany, Oklahoma with her two mini Schnauzers Obie and Amos. Susie is a former youth pastor, high school teacher, and editor. She loves Sharpies in every color, burnt hotdogs, and praying at OKC Thunder basketball games.
