This book was so much fun. This is my second novel by Pepper Basham that I have read and I will be reading more from her. They always bring me smiles and moments of laughter. There is such witty banter between the characters and not just the central characters, but also the secondary characters She. is the master romance author. She draws you in with her characters making them come alive in your mind, my experience, anyway.

I especially enjoyed the main character, Grace and all of her innocence and antics. She wasn't afraid to speak her mind regardless of the consequences. The romance between she and Frederick, while quick, was also ever so sweet. I enjoyed the many references to books and the part they played within the pages of the story. I look forward to reading the second book in this series shortly to experience more adventures with Grace and Frederick. I appreciated the faith content spread throughout the story as well.

This was a clean read, even with all the references to kissing. I listened to the book on audio, but I may have to purchase a physical copy because there were a few quotes that stuck out to me. It was a great reading experience for me. I highly recommend this book, even if it's not Christmas time.

The Mistletoe Countess is a personal favorite of mine, so it was such a fun treat getting to read another story about Grace and Fredrick.

Pepper D. Basham has such a talent for crafting witty and original stories within the Christian fiction market, and I can wholeheartedly state I've never read anything quite like this lovely tale before. Freddie and Grace continue to be one of my all time favorite literary couples, and I loved getting to witness just how much their relationship has matured and strengthened since the first book.

This was one of those rare reads that truly had something for everyone, and the author has, once again, hit it out of the park. The characters were a hoot, the mystery was well crafted and kept me guessing right through to the end, the plot was genuinely engaging, and the faith element was blended in effortlessly.

Perhaps, however, my favorite part of all was the fact that I continue to love how this author writes characters that love the book world wholeheartedly. Grace's fascination with famous literary characters is pure brilliance, and added a whole other level of humor to an an already hysterically funny story. Rarely have I enjoyed reading about a character more, and I hope that there will be many more Freddie and Grace mysteries to come.

Basically the author took my two favorite characters and threw them right into the middle of a mystery in Egypt swarming around tombs, artifacts and mummies, and I could not possibly have enjoyed this any more than I did.

    Final Rating: 5/5.

I have a feeling this one is going to end up near the top of my favorite books of the year, and I can't possibly recommend it enough.

Thanks so much to Barbour for allowing me to advance read and review this one!

I voluntarily read and reviewed a complimentary advance reader copy of this novel from the publisher (Barbour) via NetGalley. I was not required to give a positive review. All thoughts and opinions are my own, and this is my honest review.

Are you up for a Christmas murder mystery? What? Christmas and murder don't go together? In this case they do!

The Mistletoe Countess was in my Christmas TBR pile from last year. Who knew such an awesome tale was just lurking on my shelf? There was just so much to love about this book. It's technically a Christmas book, but really it's just set during the Christmas season. So if you're finding this in March go ahead and read it, you'll be in for a real treat.

The story has a gothic romance style but Grace's sunny disposition makes it laugh-out-loud funny at times and pushes all those creepy, sinister elements to the side. I do believe that she has leapt to the top of my favorite character list.

Grace's new husband Frederick is quite the character as well. The two of them together are a combination of molten lava and fireworks. I'm absolutely thrilled that this is just book one in the series and we get to follow along as these two newlyweds continue to grow in their relationship.

In all seriousness I think my favorite aspect of this novel was not just Grace the character but grace the attribute that flowed through her. We could all take a lesson from Grace in dealing with others. From a difficult mother-in-law to wary household staff she could give each of us a master class on how to treat others.

As soon as book two comes out I'm reading it. No waiting around for a year to pass this time!

I received a copy of this book to facilitate my review.

An utterly delightful read from beginning to end, I couldn't help but love Grace's wild imagination, infectious enthusiasm, and never give up determination.

Grace never though that she would find herself in an arranged marriage, but when she bravely takes her sister's place as the bride of Lord Frederick Percy she is determined to make the best of the situation. All is not as it appears and she will need her quick wits and exuberant charm to not only win Percy's heart, but to solve a murder.

An enchanting romance, with excellent characters, riveting dialogue, and crackling chemistry. I loved how in awe Percy is of Grace, and how he is reminded by his friends and staff who are supportive of their relationship of what a treasure she is. I loved that even though Percy has made his mistake he still has many faithful friends in his corner. Grace is such a breath of fresh air to his estate, she isn't afraid to be upfront and open about her faith, while living every minute to the fullest, with a relatable love of novel adventures.

Overall, this was such a fun read. I couldn't help but fall in love with the characters from Grace and Percy to the staff of Havensbrook Hall. Grace is infectiously delightful, and without guile. A swoonworthy Christmas romance, full of adventure, sure to bring a smile to your face.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
