Product Description

Why Do Plants Grow?, the first book in the Miracle of Creation series, gently introduces children to sperm, and egg, and hormones. The theme that runs through all three books in this series is, "There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven" from Ecclesiastes 3:1. Each book is a sensitive, biblical, and user-friendly tool for parents to use as they introduce their children to God's plan for sexuality and reproduction. This picture book will teach younger kids about nature's amazing reproductive processes and gently prepare them for a later discussion of human sexuality.

This looks like a good start to the series. I have read through it and it gets a bit wordy, but does have some decent pictures. I think that having actual flowers for visual aids and veering off the book script for QandA would go better, but the book is a good start.

One severely missing point is that the book does not address why pollen is needed from other flowers. I imagine kids asking, why can't the flower just use its own pollen...?

I will need to do some more research before reading to little ones.

I'm interested in getting the next book in the series as well.
