Carolyn JohnsonGolden Valley, MNAge: Over 65Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5EXCELLENT BIBLICAL FICTION!September 17, 2012Carolyn JohnsonGolden Valley, MNAge: Over 65Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5i've read a lot of Biblical fiction, but I believe that this book is the finest I've ever read--both for its content and the excellent writing. I'll never think of the Apostle Paul in the way I envisioned him before because now I have a better feeling for his deep compassion for the churches he founded and for the individual believers he loved so much. Also, his physical sufferings for the cause of Christ have more meaning for me now. As for Epaphroditus, what a special believer and fellow worker with Paul! Nothing in this book violates the Scriptural account in Acts or Philippians to me. The book of Philippians has always been special to me, and now I have a better feeling of what may have been behind some of the things Paul wrote in it. And I appreciate Lydia and Clement even more! This is a book not to be read quickly--every page enriches the believer tremendously. I wish the author would write a book like this for other epistles of Paul. For now--don't miss this one!

Mark Wetzel5 Stars Out Of 5January 15, 2007Mark WetzelIt is rare to pick up a book of such incredible magnitude! Tim makes you feel as though you are there seeing and feeling the passion and pain of the early church. This book fills in all the details within a factual framework of the letter Paul wrote to the Philippians. Impossible to put down. You have to pace yourself to enjoy every word. I pray he writes another!
Kate Paige5 Stars Out Of 5December 13, 2005Kate PaigeWhat a vivid, moving and accurate portrait of Paul Mr. Woodruff has made!I am a Bible teacher and have been teaching the last two years on Philippians and Romans. This book has brought the poetic and passionate writings of Paul to a vibrant life.I find that all that the author has written is faithful to the character and mission of Paul. But he's also put flesh and bones and a face on this extraordinary and yet very human person.I've already bought copies for my whole class and sent them to my own Bible teacher.I recommend this wholeheartedly to anyone who wants to understand Paul and have a heart like his.
