Most of the pieces in this collection are advanced as the book is categorized on the cover. A few are probably more intermediate level. I always wonder who wrote what when I see a collection like this so I'll tell you since I didn't see that info anywhere. Leaning on the Everlasting Arms is by Greer and 7 pages. Rejoice in the Lord Always is in the setting of Chopin's Minute Waltz and is by Greiner and is 9 pages. When I Survey is by Greer and is 7 pages. I Surrender All is by Ralston and is 6 pages. I Have Found a Hiding Place is in the setting of Christian Sinding's Rustle of Spring and is by Block and is 10 pages. Awesome and Exalted (Awesome God and I Exalt Thee) is by Ham and is 5 pages. The God of Abraham Praise by Young and 3 pages. Sing Praise to God Who Reigns Above by Nielson and 3 pages. There is a Fountain by Berry and 5 pages. Sonata on "Old Hundredth" (Praise God from Whom All Blessings Flow) by Ralston and 9 pages. Wonderful Words of Life by Carr and 5 pages. Oh, How I Love Jesus by Farrell and 6 pages. All Hail the Power of Jesus' Name Tune: Miles Lane and Coronation by Ralston and 8 pages. The Glory of the Cross ( Near the Cross, Were you There?, The Old Rugged Cross and He Lives) by Farrell and 11 pages. I have slowly sight read through all the pieces. My favorite is I Surrender All - just beautiful. I can't wait until I can play it the way it should be played. I actually like the whole piece. Some of the others are not my style -- too much intro (over a page), too dissonant-sounding chords, etc.. There are portions of each though that you could use if you don't like the whole thing. Most are too long to play for offertories but would probably work for preludes. Check out the tunes used in All Hail the Power in your hymnal or online before you buy to make sure you're getting what you think you are. I'm familiar with two tunes for it (there are three in the hymnal) and the one used in this piece is mostly the one I'm not familiar with (Miles Lane). There is not a full verse of the Coronation version which seems most common but what is there is beautiful. Guess I'll have to write the ending to it so I can use it. The Ham piece seems more intermediate level and easy to sight read (not what I expected - she's about my favorite arranger of hymns and I have most of her books and they are more advanced than this). The God of Abraham is also more intermediate level as is Sing Praise. I'm sure you will find something you will like in this collection. There is a variety of styles and everyone has different tastes and you may like them all! Enjoy!

This is a great songbook to use for competition pieces. The arrangements are incredible and they are far superior to most other songbooks I have looked out. Outstanding!

Definitly a book for masters. Some of the songs were a little two advanced for me or too all over the keyboard but it is an excellent book for the Sunday morning preludes and one I'm sure most advanced pianists will find challenging and exciting.

This book contains beautiful arrangements which are not for the average pianist. Some are very long but I am very happy with the variety, quality, and timeliness with which Ireceived it. Good job, CM.
