There are two movies out right now with the same title. One is great, this one is not, but don't rule it out yet. It begins at the end of the Civil war, in a shocking, unexpected scene, then suddenly goes to the present. It is most definitely different. The love of money is the root of evil, but you sort of understand in the beginning, why he continues. It gets pretty dark, but is redeemed in closing. God is a God of second chances. He is angry and bitter towards his father, understandably so, why we must learn forgiveness. Casting is very good, as well as the message, if you endure to the end and I suggest you do! I say dark, but much of life today is and getting worse daily.
It will get your attention at first. Then when the dark is fully revealed, you get caught up in it wondering just where it's going to go and how far. It is different and I loved how they brought the light back in. It's worth the price of the movie and will force you to come face to face with where we are today, living in a very dark world.
