Publisher's Description
▼▲Through a moving autobiographical account, Donna Lynn reveals the downfall of a passionate adopted child, who took to heart the slights she encountered as a pastor’s kid in her father’s Evangelical churches. As she grew up, Donna fell into a downfall to such an abject state that she even tried to take her own life. Donna describes compelling details of her long road to recovery, forgiveness, and even miracles. She describes in raw detail what it’s like to grow up as a PK in a church. It was in the midst of her strife where Donna found God’s grace and love. Donna learned she was never too far away for God to find her.

Tell us a little about yourself. I became a Christian at age 42 after deliberately running from God for 30 years. I saw Christians as hypocrites and couldn't see God through the pain and hurts in my life. One day God showed Himself to me. My life was changed. Not because I changed me, but because GOD changed me. All I had to do was say, "I'm done running, Lord. I want to be yours."
What was your motivation behind this project? There are so many people in the world who want Jesus but don't want a church. So many believe that churches are filled with finger pointing individuals who think they are higher than non-believers. The TRUTH is this: There are buildings, called "Churches" where like-minded people gather to worship Jesus Christ. We gather together to learn from each other, to lean on and support one another. There are some who have life experiences they can share to others who are learning how to place Jesus LORD over their lives. Yes, it's true. Church buildings also have some people who do think they know it all. (That's because we are human) At the end of the day - Churches are a meeting place, where like-minded individuals can come, bring their brokenness, and receive encouragement and love. When we become full of love for others - Christ calls us HIS Church.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? My prayer is that my book will encourage pastors. No parent knows exactly what their child is thinking 100% of the time. I hope my book will reach non-believers - who will see there is a difference between life with God than without. My prayer is that my book, my life, will bring Glory to God, as He changes people to live for Him.
How were you personally impacted by working on this project? Through writing about my life, I cried, I argued with God over publishing it. But in the end, I thanked God for showing me that no matter how far away I ran from Him - He was always there somewhere watching over me. He has healed my broken heart.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? The Holy Bible.
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: Don't wait for death to find out God is real. Come back to Him and He will heal your brokenness. Forgiveness, and restoration is His specialty.
