For almost fifty years and for millions of readers, the Daily Study Bible commentaries have been the ideal help for both devotional and serious Bible study. Now, with the release of the New Daily Study Bible, a new generation will appreciate the wisdom of William Barclay. With clarification of less familiar illustrations and inclusion of more contemporary language, the New Daily Study Bible will continue to help individuals and groups discover what the message of the New Testament really means for their lives.
In this eBook edition of The Letters of John and Jude from The New Daily Study Bible series, William Barclay uses his characteristically approachable writing style to offer fresh translations and compelling commentary on the letters of John and Jude, which deal with heretical teachings within the early church. Built upon solid scholarship and his own extensive knowledge of the original languages, Barclay's commentary on the letters of John and Jude remains accessible to the non-technical reader, providing inspiration for pastors, missionaries, students and laymen and, in Barclay's own words summing up Richard of Chichester's prayer, enabling men and women 'to know Jesus Christ more clearly, to love him more dearly, and to follow him more nearly.'

His work on the the letters of John and Jude is no exception. The work is built upon solid scholarship, but is written in a popular style. The series is designed to provide easily accessible daily devotions. The aim was "to make the results of modern scholarship available to the non-technical reader..." Because of the vision of the series, Barclay's work should not used as a stand alone resource. But it definitely accomplishes what it sets out to do.
