We watched this together on Valentine's Day & it touched our hearts. After raising 3 children & watching 5 grandchildren growing up (ages 4-16), we think every family should watch this together!! There are so many children growing up in broken homes & struggling with that & soooo much peer pressure. This movie addresses several different challenges in not only growing up, but in parenting. It touches on forgiveness, overcoming abandonment with unhealthy relationships, overcoming selfishness with doing what's right & good for others, fulfilling your dreams with God given talents, etc. Buy it, watch it, share it, WE ARE!!!
When I first started to watch this movie I was somewhat disappointed as it seemed just a teen movie with a lot of teen things going on. However as I got into the movie it did pick up. By the end of the movie it was great. If I rated this movie from 1 to 10 at first it would have been 4 or 5 but at the end I would give it a seven. It is a good message of going from doing wrong to doing right but nothing about Christ or salvation. However for the money it is a good family movie for entertainment only.
This was a pretty good movie but be aware that it seems to be done by Mormons. The previews on the dvd make that quite clear. The Mormon church has many good values, as is evident in the making of this movie, but it has many un-Biblical beliefs and doctrines and I wouldn't want somebody to watch this movie and get the idea that Mormons are just another Christian denomination.
