Author/Artist Review

Tell us a little about yourself.  My husband, Lance, and I are raising our five children in Grove City, PA where we met and fell in love during college. I knew from the time I was a little girl that I wanted to follow in my mother’s footsteps and be a teacher. Even though I found teaching physics to be fun and rewarding, teaching from the Word of God is my true passion and calling. It is my love for the Lord and the desire to trust and obey Him that leads me to speak and write about my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

What was your motivation behind this project?  As a Physics Instructor at a local public university, the Lord continually reminded me that I was there to shine His light. As the students investigated electricity and how lamps and lightbulbs work in our classroom, the Lord continued to show me how each one of those students was created by Him to shine His light, too. For two years the Lord kept telling me to write the book, but I just didn't know how. Then one night, after a full night of ministry, I sat at my computer and the Lord just "downloaded" the whole story as I wrote every word as I heard him speak it to my heart. The continued to lead me through the process of getting the story illustrated and published. It is His. I am just the carrier of the project.

What do you hope folks will gain from this project?  I pray that many would come to shine the Lord's light through this story. Whether it's the need for a lightbulb, the need to plug into His power or the realization that we need to stop switching off His light by exercising our "free-will switch", I pray that all who hear this story will shine brighter with the Light of Jesus!

Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists?  Frances J. Roberts author of Come Away My Beloved. Max Lucado & Dr. Suess. I also love the Experiencing God study by Henry Blackaby.

Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know:  If you like The Lamp Maker you will also love The Potter and Our Father.
