Tell us a little about yourself. Since getting my Master's Degree in Storytelling in 1997, I've been privileged to pursue a career of telling and writing stories. My latest venture, The Patrick Bowers novels, has been my most challenging series yet.
What was your motivation behind this project? I began asking myself a question, "What is more important, truth or justice?" The journey toward the answer led me to this story.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? First of all, I hope they'll enjoy the story and connect with the characters. Also, my goal is to lead people on a journey to asking questions that ultimately matter.
How were you personally impacted by working on this project? Honestly, as I wrote about the serial killer, I was deeply disturbed. He was so evil, that he began to give me nightmares. I ended up taking a break from the novel and finishing a prayer book I had been working on. I'm happy both with how the novel and the book of prayers turned out.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? Calvin Miller's Singer Trilogy inspired me to weave imagination and faith into my writing. Lately, I've been reading a variety of thriller authors including Dave Morrell and Jeffrey Deaver to get a handle on how other authors craft thrillers.
