At the end of the first century, a young legal scholar was commissioned by a committee of the Senate to investigate the people called Christians. He was given a Hebrew slave as a servant and a Centurion as a bodyguard. Both of them turn out to be not as expected. They will travel the whole Mediterranean area of the Roman Empire. They will meet scholars, soldiers, slaves, officials and common people with things to tell. They will meet people who had met Jesus of Nazareth and some of his closest followers. They will see some of the early copies of what became the New Testament of todayas Bible. The beliefs and practices of the Christians will be investigated. They will learn many things they have trouble believing. But the evidence was there. Even after the final reports to the committee were made, there were still some surprises to come.
