Tell us a little about yourself. I have been involved in church ministry since high-school days, serving as a musician, retreat planner and Christian summer camp counselor.
Professionally, I began working in Catholic schools in 1986 as a teacher, and then later as an elementary school principal and assistant superintendent of schools.
I graduated from California State University in Sacramento with a B.A. in psychology and earned a master's degree in educational leadership from St. Mary's College in Moraga, California.
I live in California's Sacramento Valley with my wife and two children.
What was your motivation behind this project? A crisis of faith - and some difficult medical challenges that my family has had to face.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? To look at the gospel story from a new perspective, and to find personal meaning that's relevant for today's living.
How were you personally impacted by working on this project? It has changed my prayer life, made more conscious of the suffering around me, and a lot more humble.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? I enjoy the work of Max Lucado, Joseph Girzone and David Gregory. I find inspiration in Jesus, St. Francis, St. Catherine of Sienna, and St. Ignatius of Loyola. I am also inspired by Habitit for Humantiy and The Heifer Project
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: I welcome feedback and insights from readers.
