Based on the artstyle of the Read and Share® Bible, The Jesus Movie transports children toNazareth for the story of Jesus birth, follows his life and miracles along theshores of Lake Galilee and ends in Jerusalem with his arrest, crucifixion andresurrectionall in one dramatic 80-minute movie. slg4 Stars Out Of 5PromisingDecember 30, 2014slgQuality: 4Value: 4Meets Expectations: 4I've watched this once-through with my three-year olds and while it does not hold their attention the entire time they do enjoy watching it and already ask for "baby Jesus" in their list of DVD requests (we had watched the Christmas story first which I bought separately, which ended up just being the first part of this DVD). The animation is a bit SimCityish (seems to hearken back to more a 90's style of computer animation), but it's good and simple enough to not distract from the story itself. As is probably true for almost any Bible-based production, there will be parts that you feel aren't entirely accurate, but in this movie there was nothing glaring here, just details that I would consider non-crucial. I just really wanted something to introduce Jesus's death, burial, and resurrection to my young kids in a format that would grab them. They did not watch it closely enough yet for me to feel that they really got the story line, but I think they will watch it again and again and at this age, that's a thumbs-up. It's all about exposure right now, and any conversation-opener possible. I'm happy with it and look forward to watching it again (it's good for adults, too:)

but the peoples faces were awful.
Huge disproportionate noses & they always looked angry.
This didn't seem to interest the 3 & 4 year olds I intended it for - possibly the 5 & up group would find it interesting.
