Rebecca ManeyGastonia, North CarolinaAge: 55-65Gender: female4 Stars Out Of 5A Stunning Political Thriller!April 30, 2020Rebecca ManeyGastonia, North CarolinaAge: 55-65Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This review was written for The Jerusalem Assassin."You ever once think about how much danger you put everyone in who gets near you?"
It's a fair statement. Marcus Rycker is a dangerous man to be around; not only do international terrorists rarely stand a chance against his intense thirst for justice, but it's become apparent that those Marcus has loved the most have been lost in the process; a tragic result of his highly dangerous career assignments.
Barely having time to grieve yet another dear friend and mentor, Marcus is shuttled over to the Middle East in preparation for a high stakes peace deal among three of the most powerful men in the world; the President of the United States, Israel's Prime Minister, and the Monarch of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Unprecedented . . . especially when an unnamed terrorist group decides to make their own mark on world history. Ultimately, it's up to Marcus to thwart their efforts while guaranteeing protection for all three heads of state.
"This was it. The moment he had been told to wait on. . . . . . Imagine. All three in the same room. At the same time . . . How it would happen, he did not know. But he had no doubt in his mind that these three men were going to die. And he would be the one to kill them."
What a rush! This adrenaline laced story is altogether compelling, brilliant, and completely unnerving; it even hints at what could be our hope for the future, either in this world or the next. Joel Rosenberg has such a grasp of the Middle East and its history, that one could almost believe that there is a Marcus Ryker out there for "such a time as this". -
MaryAnnORAge: Over 65Gender: Female4 Stars Out Of 5Intriquing and realisticAugust 14, 2020MaryAnnORAge: Over 65Gender: FemaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This review was written for The Jerusalem Assassin.Joel Rosenberg writes political thrillers like prophecies--ones we hope won't happen. This latest is no exception. Will the three major religions work together for peace or will this effort end in disaster . . . Especially with the recent front-page news about an Arab-Israeli agreement, this novel seems so timely. It contains some violence, terrorists, and suicide bombers, so beware what you're getting into. The stakes are high, as are the tensions. Even if you have not read any of his other books starring Marcus Ryker, you will be captivated by his rapid-paced storytelling that captures your interest and won't let you go. I received a copy from Netgalley. All opinions are my own.
