Is America under judgment for turning away from God asancient Israel did? That is the provocative questionaddressed by this video documentary produced by WND's JosephFarah, edited and directed by award-winning filmmaker GeorgeEscobar and featuring messianic rabbi Jonathan Cahn, authorof the New York Times bestseller "The Harbinger: The AncientMystery That Holds the Secret of America's Future." Thetwo-hour, two-DVD documentary is based on shocking researchby Cahn, who heads the Jerusalem Center-Beth IsraelCongregation in Wayne, N.J. he suggests an otherwise obscurepassage in the Book of Isaiah is since Sept. 11, 2001, beinguncannily re-enacted in the U.S. just the way it originallyplayed out in the time of the great prophet of Israelleading to the nation's captivity and dispersions. Cahnreveals what he calls "an ancient mystery that holds thesecret of America's future and the collapse of the globaleconomy." "Before its destruction as a nation, ancientIsrael received nine harbingers, prophetic omens ofwarning," he says. "The same nine harbingers are nowmanifesting in America with immediate ramifications forend-time prophecy." The key to decoding the harbingers, hesays, is found in understanding the seemingly innocuouswords of Isaiah 9:10 (King James Version), what it meant toIsrael and how the history seems to be repeating itself inAmerica today. "The bricks are fallen down, but we willbuild with hewn stones: the sycomores are cut down, but wewill change them into cedars." These words were firstuttered by leaders in Israel and in response to a limitedstrike by Assyria on the lands of Zebulun and Naphtali anattack the prophet makes clear is actually part of a limitedjudgment by God against apostasy. It wasn't meant to destroythe nation, but to awaken it, according to mostcommentaries. But, says Cahn, Israel didn't take the cue.Instead, the response from the people in Isaiah 9:10 is oneof defiance. The brick buildings were toppled, but theyvowed to build bigger and better. The little sycamore treesmay have been uprooted, but they vowed to plant bigger andbetter cedars in their place. God, speaking through Isaiahexplains what will happen as a result of their pride andarrogance and failure to heed the harbinger: Bigger and morepotent attacks will follow. Because neither the northernkingdom of Israel or the southern kingdom of Judah trulyrepents, the first is eventually swept away by Assyrianinvaders and the latter is carried off into captivity by theBabylonians for 70 years. But what does this have to do withthe United States of America -- particularly what the U.S.experienced on 9/11 and since? Cahn has found somestrikingly eerie parallels. "The parallels are trulystunning," says Farah. "In fact, they are overwhelming intheir number and their exactitude. I am persuaded God istrying to tell America something and Rabbi Cahn has foundthe key to unlocking the message." Does a relatively obscureverse of scripture hold the secret to the pain and sufferingAmerica has been experiencing in increasing doses since9/11? Are America's key leaders unknowingly fulfilling aprophetic destiny of national judgment by uttering wordsfrom the Bible they don't comprehend? Is the United Statesfollowing in the footsteps of ancient Israel with a spiritof defiance against God leading to increasingly severejudgments? Is America in danger of impending judgment? Andis this judgment revealed in an ancient mystery thatforetells current events down to the exact dates? What canAmericans learn that can prevent their nation from fallinglike ancient Israel did when it failed to heed God'swarnings?
