Series: Viking Quest
Once again Bree finds the courage to win in a story that builds on the first two books of the Viking Quest series. In this novel, Bree arrives in Norway and is sent to work as a slave for the family of Mikkel, her Viking captor. She struggles to adjust, feeling worthless and disrespected, and wondering why God wants her in Norway. Her prayers are answered when she is given the opportunity to teach Mikkel's grandparents to read using an illuminated Bible stolen from an Irish monastery.
LOIS WALFRID JOHNSON is a speaker, teacher of writing, and former instructor for Writer's Digest School. Christine M. Irvin5 Stars Out Of 5July 10, 2010Christine M. IrvinThe Invisible Friend is the third book in the Viking Quest series. In this series, Bree and her brother, Devon (check spelling) are captured by Viking raiders (as was their sister, Keely, seven years before them). Devin is set free in the first book so he can return home to Ireland and secure ransom for his sisters Brees release. In this book, Devin returns with the ransom money, but Brees release is not immediately secured as there are, of course, complications. Devin is imprisoned and must await trail. In the meantime, Bree discovers their sister Keely is not only alive, she is living in the same part of Normandy as Bree and Devin are now.Throughout all their troubles and tribulations, the siblings remain strong in their faith. There are pencil sketch illustrations at the beginning of some of the chapters that illustrate a key concept from that particular chapter. What I Like: I have only read the first book and this book in the series, so I didnt know what happened between books one and three. However, the author did a good job of filling in the blank spaces by backtracking and adding things from the first two books, so I have a pretty good idea what happened in book two. What I Dislike: Nothing.Overall Rating: Very good.
