    The inn at Ocean's edge is the first book in the Sunset cove series.

    When Claire Dellamare was four years old she went missing. A year later she turns up in the town of Folly Shore unable to remember how she got there or where she has been. As an adult, she has returned the Folly Shore and memories begin to surface driving her to find the truth about that missing year.

    Luke Rocco loves his life as a coast guard, but when the body of his missing mother turns up in a local blueberry field after being missing for twenty five years, Luke must make a life changing decision.

    I thought that Claire was a very interesting character. She was smart and strong and I felt drawn into her story from the very beginning. Her story unfolds just enough that you need to know her, her backstory and the mystery that surrounds her.

    With Luke what we did get to know about him I really enjoyed. I felt however that his story seemed to be overshadowed by Claire. I was also a bit disappointed because I wish that Luke and Claire had more time together as a couple.

    The storyline held me spellbound. The author put together one of the best storys I have read in quite awhile. It was original, the mystery and suspense was top notch. The author includes many plot twists and red herrings that keep the reader guessing. It also includes lots of dialogue about God, but never comes across as preachy. Her characters are well written and almost always struggle with some kind of issue. In my opinion Colleen Coble is one of the best writers in Christian fiction.

    Loved this story! Its full of suspense, mystery, and romance. Claire finds out that the perfect life she has lived in nothing more than lies and deceit. Loved the writing by Colleen Coble and can't wait to read the next in the series.

    Both my book clubs gave this story a low rating due to the 'unbelievable' factors - me too. There wasn't a major character in this story anyone could identify with. "Consequence Catastrophe" would have been a better title. Huge disappointment.

    Inn at Oceans Edge

    I knew I would love this novel even before I picked it up, because it was written by Colleen Coble. But the subject matter and plot still totally blew me away. Reading it was so incredibly real I wanted to find out more about it on Google! The angst, the horror of what is revealed took my breath away. I felt the confusion as Claire confronted her father with the rumors, and was disappointed with him. In fact he was a jerk! And her mother seemed to think that what she didn't know couldn't hurt her.

    The writing is superb and a great example of Colleen's work.

    As awesome as it was, I do wish I had had a print copy of this to read, because somehow no novel is quite the same reading on an electronic device as holding a paper book in your hands, whether it is suspense or romance or anything in between.

    Thank you to Amy and Chris at Lifuse Publicity Group, TNZfiction and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this novel. I was given a free Ebook in exchange for an honest review. A positive critique was not required. The opinions are my own

    Colleen Coble's novel, "The Inn at Ocean's Edge" is set in Maine, and while I've never been there in person, I've always wanted to visit, so one delight of this book was feeling like I actually made a trip to Maine! Colleen's descriptions drew me into every sight, sound, and smell of life on the ocean. {And since I love the water, you should know how very happy this made me.}

    She weaves suspense with romance, and blends them in a beautiful way. The book tells the story of Claire Dellamare, a successful young woman working alongside her father to grow their family business. They've arrived at the Hotel Tourmaline on the coast of Maine in hopes of closing a significant business merger, but just after arriving, Claire begins to learn details about her childhood she'd never known before. She begins to hunt for answers to clear her own mind, but it's not long before the hunt takes a series of urgent turns, with lives and reputations at stake.

    The rest of the book is a wild ride of surprise twists, unexpected characters, and the never-ceasing internal rush to connect the dots before the characters do. Colleen weaves in splashes of faith, romance, marine life, mystery, and courage alongside the complexity of family relationships that we all experience on some level, even if the details look a bit different for each of us.

    I read the book - all 318 pages of it - in one day, and a good chunk of that took place at the salon during a cut and color. I had no clue, until the stylist tapped me on the shoulder to inform me I was done, what length OR color my hair was...that's how deeply I was engrossed in the book. Thankfully, she's trustworthy, and it was only slightly darker and shorter than I'd imagined. But at the conclusion of the haircut, I was only halfway through the book and didn't care if my hair had been green and an inch long. I had to get home to finish the book!

    Thanks, Colleen, for the affordable vacation to Maine, the new book-friends I made within the pages, and the gift of your captivating story-telling!
