I finished this book yesterday and I am still thinking about it. I found the characters all fleshed out and were people you felt you could like, apart from the disagreeable ones.

There is not a lot I can add to all the reviews on here, this is a great read, I find myself wondering about Katrina and her situation and the other characters through out my day. It was quite the page turner and when I did put it down I couldn't wait to pick it up again. Suzanne Woods Fisher is a gifted author, she really does know how to tell a story.

In this first book of The Bishops Family series we see things arent right in Stoney Ridge. Preacher David Stoltzfus moves his family there from Ohio after the death of his wife and at the urging of Elmo Beiler who, at the time, was Bishop.

Suzanne Woods Fisher writes a wonderful tale of love..the strong love of a father for his children.the love of a young girl for her fianc, loss, learning to trust again, and finding happiness again.

Bishop Glick runs the church like a dictator along with his spineless brother Levi. David is the only one who standsup to them.

Read the Stolzfus familys story. Find out how Katrina heals, or does she? What of her troublesome brother Jesse? Does David find love again? And, of course, WHO IS THE IMPOSTER?

The Imposter is the first book in Suzanne Woods Fishers The Bishops Family series, but definitely isnt the first book I have ever read by her. Ive read many of her other Amish books in the past and really enjoyed each of them, so I was pretty excited to read this novel. As soon as I started it, I was sucked in and found myself trying to figure out all that was going to happen, though I was definitely thrown for a loop more than once with some of the very unexpected turns this story took. I enjoyed every one of them though, as well as this whole story, because there were so many things to keep me captivated and guessing.

Katrina Stoltzfus is still struggling to heal after two different wrecks: a buggy accident she and her mother were in, and the train wreck of a long-distance relationship she had with her boyfriend, John. As a way of coping, she distracts herself by taking a job helping a widow with her new business, where she finds she actually enjoys her work. Before long, however, her life is turned upside down once again, and she finds herself wondering if she can truly move on, or if she really can count on the friendship Andy Miller is only too happy to provide.

The Imposter focuses on three other characters as well as Katrina: her father, David Stoltzfus, her brother Jesse, and their neighbor Birdy Glick. I really enjoyed reading all the different scenes from each of their perspectives, and I felt the varying focus gave new light to the story and all that went on. I definitely enjoyed all the different facets of this tale, and am really excited to read the next book in the series.

All in all, I really liked this book, though there were a few times it was just a little too slow for my tastes. I can happily give it four out of five bookshelves, though, and would still highly recommend this book. There are so many wonderfully sweet scenes packed into the pages of this novel, and I was ready to start the next bookThe Quietingjust as soon as I put this one down. I have to read a book for Tuesdays My Bookshelf post first, but then I will be devouring that novel as well!

The Imposter is Book #1 in The Bishops Family series and is a captivating story with delightful characters; some you will like, others not so much! I found the title The Imposter intriguing and soon discovered some of the people in Stoney Ridge are not what they seem. Although I wanted to savor each page, I was anxious to finish hoping for a happy ending! It was easy to get involved in the story-line finding yourself rooting for the underdog. Katrina Stoltzfus thinks she has life all figured out. Andy Miller seems too good to be true? Will Katrina be deceived once again or will she learn to trust God for forgiveness and a better plan for her life? Lots of twists and turns and as with all Suzanne Woods Fisher books Ive read, well-written and enjoyable. Cant wait for Book #2, The Quieting.
