Amanda B4 Stars Out Of 5Good book, but not my favoriteFebruary 11, 2019Amanda BQuality: 4Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Hammer Girl Ellie flips houses in Lavender Tides. When her sister goes missing, she begins investigating the case herself. Grayson Bradshaw comes to town investigating the disappearance of a drug seizure, and connects the case to Ellie's sister, Mackenzie.
Ellie and Grayson clash over the investigation, and Grayson discovers deeper ties to Lavender Tides.
While the book was enjoyable, it wasn't my favorite by Colleen Coble. The plot was unbelievable with a small, quiet town suddenly becoming the center of a terrorist plot.
I'm thankful to Thomas Nelson for allowing me the opportunity to read and review the book, and I look forward to the third book, and conclusion, of this series.

Ellie Blackmore's world is torn apart when her sister Mackenzie goes missing. The evidence paints her sister as a criminal, but she's determined to prove otherwise. Grayson Bradshaw is a Coast Guard Intelligence Officer and he's working to uncover Mackenzie's acts. What he doesn't expect is to discover his family secrets.
Ellie and Grayson find themselves involved in a dangerous game and seeking the truth may cost them their lives.
Colleen Coble never fails to deliver an action-packed story that enthralls the reader. The House at Saltwater Point is a page-turner and definitely worth every second spent reading it.
Jennybug524 Stars Out Of 5The House at Saltwater PointDecember 13, 2018Jennybug52Quality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 44 stars- This the second book in the Lavender Tides series and tells the story of Grayson, a Coast Guard intelligence officer and Ellie, an up and coming house flipper. When Ellie's sister disappears and Grayson shows up convinced that she helped steal a seized cocaine shipment, the sparks fly.
I enjoyed this book. I found myself drawn into the mystery of what happened to Ellie's sister and really wanting to find out the truth. The storyline was intriguing and kept me reading. Ellie and Grayson were both complex characters that had a lot of baggage, even if they didn't even realize it! I really like how the author has interwoven the secondary story of Grayson, aka Connor, and the truth about his childhood, into the main story. It ties the series together well and adds an extra layer to the characters and the story.
Having lived in Washington for a couple of years I enjoy reading about the Pacific Northwest and imagining the beauty of the setting. I did feel a little torn on the quickness of Ellie and Grayson's relationship. They seemed to be on the fast track to love so at times the depth of their relationship was too fast for me.
I am super excited to read the third book in this series and find out the truth about Brenna. I received a copy of this book for free. I was not required to post a positive review and the views and opinions expressed are my own.
GrandaddyAAge: Over 65Gender: male5 Stars Out Of 5Hammer GirlNovember 5, 2018GrandaddyAAge: Over 65Gender: maleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Her name is Ellie and she makes a living by working with her partner buying and flipping houses. With the help of a few employees and contracted help, they have built quite a reputation. Her ability to handle a hammer is second to none. She also writes the Hammer Girl Blog and shares tips with those who are interested. I suppose a story about flipping houses might not hold the interest of very many people but not to worry. Following the apparent murder of her sister, Ellie has more on her plate than she can handle as it seems that her own life is in jeopardy as well. The tension mounts as Ellie and Coast Guard Investigator Grayson Bradshaw seek to figure out what happened. Add in a stolen shipment of cocaine and the potential threat of an EMP bomb and suddenly the story reaches a new excitement level. When the story seems focused on the work going on in a house Ellie and her partner are renovating, I think the author is giving us an opportunity to catch a fresh breath in preparation for the excitement to ramp up still more. I enjoyed the suspense immensely.
KavRCanadaGender: female5 Stars Out Of 5A delightfully page-turning, shoulder-checking and gasp-out-louding kind of readOctober 8, 2018KavRCanadaGender: femaleShaky sigh -- I won't be looking at black SUVs in the same way any time soon. In fact, I'll be busy throwing myself into bushes and ducking around corners every time I see one from now on because scary things happen when a black SUV rolls by.
But do you think Ellie figured that out in time to save this reader untold angst? Nope -- that girl is one stubborn spitfire who doesn't know what the word 'cautious' means. And 'backing down' isn't in her vocabulary either. I screamed myself hoarse trying to guide her safely through to 'the end'. But she's tone deaf when it comes to directions from the reading gallery. And she doesn't always take directions from Grayson well either. She both annoys and fascinates him and royally messes up his well-ordered world. Love the great chemistry between these two! It's as charged as the suspense!
And there's an urgency to absolutely everything in this story. From the tense mysteries (yes, there's more than one) to the menacing villains (again, note the plural!) to the fast-paced action scenes. Not to mention the body count! And the specter of danger looming over them all! A delightfully page-turning, shoulder-checking and gasp-out-louding kind of a read.
