Product Description

The Hidden Faith of the Founding Fathers is perhaps the first and only documentary to go where no film has ever gone before, confronting the little known beliefs of America’s founders. Conservative Christian leaders often claim that the revolutionaries were godly men who were trying to build a Christian nation. But was their faith the true faith of the Bible? Or is it possible that the exact opposite is true?
The real questions are: What did the founders believe about Jesus Christ? Christianity begins with faith in the Person of Christ Himself: what did the founders think of Him? What did they think of the Gospel? Were they fighting for Christianity, or against it? Rated G. Approx. 180 minutes.

I believe David Barton and his many examples of the Christian heritage in our country. However, this video provides a more complete picture of our Founding Fathers and events transpiring during our nation's birth. As much as I love Mr Barton's work, I believe every apologist should watch this video before concluding that our leaders were wholeheartedly seeking to form a Christian nation. I was very skeptical during the first fifteen minutes of the video but the evidence mounts and is very compelling the further you watch. Highly recommend.

I think that many people want to believe that our "founding fathers" were all staunch defenders of the faith. This DVD will show that for at least some of them the evidence suggest otherwise. To be sure, we are still a nation that had a very strong Christian influence but it just turns out that some of the people we put on pedestals had questionable commitments to Christianity. The dvd led me to actually read the jefferson bible (which is many times advertised as proof of Thomas Jeffersons invovlement with Christianity) and I walked away understanding that Thomas Jefferson did not have a high regard for the truth of the bible.

I do not recommend this DVD
    June 19, 2013
I do not recommend this DVD. The presentation is quite biased toward the view Mr. Pinto wishes to portray. Much historical documentation is overlooked, leading to a misguided overall conclusion of Christian faith evident in many founders. Mr. Pinto unfortunately leads viewers to mistrust the work of historian David Barton, who has thousands of historical documents and utilizes them to wonderfully verify the incredible "Influence of the Bible in America" (a DVD I do highly recommend!). Mr. Pinto focuses intently on a few individuals, and the material seems repetitive to me in trying to reinforce a particular view. Overall, because of the unbalanced approach, I believe this film does a great disservice to true history.
