Some of his political choices lacked the depth of his spiritual life. But Wesley offers an opportunity for us all to see that the political sphere does not necessarily impact the spiritual sphere. That one can be "holy" and incredibly wrong at the same time. This book offers a gateway into the spiritual life of a good man who loved the Lord and was deeply flawed in ways that did not affect his holiness or the power of his mission, or, to accomplish his mission as he saw it from God. In these difficult times it might be wise for us to remember God chooses the people He does for HIS PLANS not ours, and sometimes the people HE chooses do not fit our point of view. Excellent book that gave me much to think about.

Jeff Cochran5 Stars Out Of 5January 4, 2009Jeff CochranSuch a delight to read a book that is edifying, and also very interesting and pleasurable. My only complaint is that I am almost at the end of the book, and I can see that it is going to soon come to an end! :(One of the most pleasant and edifying books I have ever read. The book is also an excellent source of information on Great Britain in the 1700's.
