Jessica knows all about menand how they should never be trusted.
Jessica DuBois is not used to getting her hands dirty or her heart broken. When her mother remarries and takes Jessica with her to rugged Fort Bridger, Wyoming, Jessica longs for her Boston parties and the control she used to have over her life.
Then she meets Reverend Clay Cole, a man who seems only to have eyes for God and his adoring three-year-old cousin. Clay is not just immune to Jessicas charms, he challenges her selfish attitude.
When tragedy brings this unlikely pair together, they must decide: Is love truly powerful enough to heal the soul?
Rich in historical detail, The Heart Answers takes us to 1867 Wyoming, where a misplaced socialite and an independent preacher ask the deepest questions of the heart.
USA Today bestselling author Colleen Coble has written several romantic suspense novels including Tidewater Inn, Rosemary Cottage, and the Mercy Falls, Lonestar, and Rock Harbor series. Visit her website at www.colleencoble.com Twitter: @colleencoble Facebook: colleencoblebooks
MaureenTSyracuse NYGender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Finally a Jessica You Can LikeJune 27, 2016MaureenTSyracuse NYGender: femaleQuality: 0Value: 0Meets Expectations: 0The Heart Answers is the third book in this series, and this is Jessica DuBoiss story, and if you have read the other books, your opinion of her may not be very nice. She was always the thorn in everybodys side, and if there was trouble, it was usually her fault.
After her father died Jessica and her mother decide to move to Fort Bridger, Wyoming, and her mother has decided to marry her deceased husbands brother. What a change for Jessica, but God does seem to have his reasons for what happens and we find Jessica making a real friend for a change.
The Reverend Clay Cole is related to this new friend, a cousin really, who is recently widowed, and has a precocious three-year-old daughter. Surprisingly, Jessica seems to afford an attachment for this child, really out of character for her. Rev Clay is attracted to Jessica, but as we have seen in the past she is a bit flighty and conniving, can she every change.
This was a very quick read, and one that I didnt want to end, I kept hoping things would work out for all, but you will have to read the book and judge for yourself!
I received this book through Net Galley and the Publisher Thomas Nelson, and was not required to give a positive review.
JaquelynAge: 25-34Gender: female4 Stars Out Of 5Will the Heart Answer?June 22, 2016JaquelynAge: 25-34Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Whenever I pick up a book by Colleen Coble I know I am going to be entertained by it. The Heart Answers was one of those books. From the first page I was hooked, and enjoyed every moment. The Heart Answers is set in Wyoming in 1867. Coble takes you to a place not often visited, a military fort. I found it so interesting learning more about what life would have been like for those that lived there. The characters were so fun to get to know, and I wasnt ready to say goodbye.
Jessica DuBois has lived the last several years of her life a bit spoiled. When her mother must remarry, she has no choice but to move to Fort Bridger. The last place Jessica wants to go is another fort, but being with her mother is also important. Used to being the only child, and not having to help around the house Jessica doesnt know what to do when her life is turned upside down. Being blessed with beauty has always helped Jessica get what she wants, but will it work at their new home? When life isnt easy is when you get to see your true character, will Jessica like who she is?
When Clay meets Jessica he sees what she is on the outside. But can he minister to her when all he sees is a pretty spoiled girl? Traveling from fort to fort is his calling, and the last thing he wants is for someone to mess up his plans. Not only does he love his job, but he loves his family. When tragedy strikes Clay knows he has some decisions to make. Will those decisions include Jessica? Will he listen to Gods will for his life, or forge ahead in what he thinks God wants?
I really enjoyed reading this book. It was not without tragedy, but most of our lives arent perfect. Coble kept my interest the entire time. I had fun trying to figure out what Jessica was going to do next. I enjoyed learning more about life in a fort, and was surprised by many of the things I learned. It was interesting following the characters growth in Christ, from those who didnt know Him, to those who leaned on him daily. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Historical Fiction. I received a copy of this book from Thomas Nelson Publishers in exchange for my honest opinion. All opinions expressed are my own.
Trinity RoseOhioAge: 45-54Gender: female4 Stars Out Of 5The Heart AnswersMay 31, 2016Trinity RoseOhioAge: 45-54Gender: femaleQuality: 4Value: 4Meets Expectations: 4The Heart Answers by Colleen Coble is a good story of love and redemption. Ive read many of Colleens books and this one isnt my favorite.
This is a series and I didnt read the first two books, but didnt have any trouble following along.
The Reverend Clay Cole wasnt a very good example of how to be a Christian. He didnt believe that Jessica could become a better person and he gave up on her near the ending.
Ive heard others say that the first two books in this series Jessica was so evil that they had a hard time believing she would change.
It was a good story, but didnt care for how Jessica and Clay treated each other and how they fought so much. The only thing that kept them talking and seeing each other was Clays little three year old cousin.
It was a sweet, sad, redemptive kind of story and I recommend it.

Although not one of my favorites of her books, this book is a solid read with much to love. Jessica and Clay have enough personalities that make you laugh and truly enjoy watching their story unfold.
