Tell us a little about yourself. I'm a professional writer who worked as a writer, editor and manager of press relations for the IBM Corporation for 25 years before founding my own marketing communications business.
What was your motivation behind this project? A succession of Bible study classes at my church inspired me to write my first Christian novel, the story of "The Good Thief" pardoned by Jesus on Good Friday. My second novel, "On the Road to Damascus" continues the story and illustrates the personal faith and sacrifices made by the first followers of Jesus.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? These books are a personal ministry for me. I hope to do my small part to spread in a thoughtful and captivating way God's timeless message of love, mercy, forgiveness and offer of salvation. I'm happy to say both books have been optioned as possible feature films by a Christian production company. If it's God's will, the messages these books contain may reach a much larger audience.
How were you personally impacted by working on this project? Writing these books was an amazing, spiritual experience. I honestly felt the influence of the Holy Spirit working through me as I wrote. I had never intended to write a novel but felt I had been asked to take on the task and complete it.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? I'm influenced by the Holy Bible of course, and many other books about the life and times of Jesus. I've done considerable research on Jewish life and traditions at the time, as well as the politics and economics of Jerusalem and Rome. I enjoy listening to contemporary Christian music.
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: Writing these books was a labor of love for me. I hope readers will give them a chance and not pass them by because they were not published by a large commercial publisher. There are some wonderful and positive reviews on line. I deliberately chose to publish them myself because I felt the Lord wanted me to finish the task and make the stories available. I leave the promotion of them in large part to Him. I am sure you will enjoy reading them. Both novels are available in print and e-book editions.
