Charles Stanley, one of the most influential spiritual leaders of our day, shares the key to personal and even world peace in The Gift of Forgiveness. as Stanley points out that no sin is so shockingly evil it blocks God's forgiveness nor so trivial it negates the need for God's mercy, he shares the specifics of how to go about receiving and giving forgiveness.
The Gift of Forgiveness reflects the heart of Stanley's teaching ministry. In this markedly helpful book, Stanley addresses such questions as how to practise a life of forgiveness in all your relationships and how to make forgiveness an ongoing, practical experience in your life.

Peter Abbott1 Stars Out Of 5The Victim Becomes The PerpetratorJuly 7, 2016Peter AbbottQuality: 5Value: 1Meets Expectations: 1This is a warning to anybody who is about to read Charles Stanley's little book, The Gift of Forgiveness. Mr. Stanley ignores Jesus' teachings on forgiveness and substitutes his own teachings. On page 168 is this guidance: "When we fully comprehend God's forgiveness toward us, we simply cannot justify our holding anyone else accountable." Hogwash! Every person who sins is held accountable by God, and the penalty for sin is death. But the Gospel of Grace tells us that Jesus took our sin away when He died and was resurrected. On page 169 is this guidance regarding the false sin of bitterness: "If you feel it is appropriate, and will not cause more problems than it solves, go to that person (who sinned against you), confess your bitterness, and ask for forgiveness." So...the victim of a sin becomes the sinner and should go to the perpetrator and confess his sin of holding bitterness for being sinned against. Incredible! This is nothing but psychobabble!

The inability to forgive severely limits the joy and growth that a Christian is meant to experience in his/her daily walk and Dr. Stanley's practical study addresses how to have victory in forgiving others and ourselves after first acknowleding the forgiveness we have received from our Heavenly Father. Highly recommend this for group studies!
Denise5 Stars Out Of 5April 23, 2010DeniseThe Gift of Forgiveness by Charles Stanely is a book which God will use to help you learn how to forgive. Forgiveness is always the answer no matter what the offense done to you. It's what our Savior did to us when we sinned against Him. We are without excuse not to do the same. I highly recommend this book to anyone struggling with unforgiveness.
