Tell us a little about yourself. I am a Police Lieutenant with OCPD and have been for the past 22 years. I've been married for 20 to a wonderful woman who has blessed me with four children. My wife and I minister to married couples to enhance their relationships and do pre-martial counseling for our church.
What was your motivation behind this project? One morning during a time of prayer, God spoke and told me to tell the stories of what I have experienced as a police officer and how they related to everyone's purpose in life. I never wanted to be an author but did want to be obedient to what God had called me to do.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? To discover their purpose in this life and to live everyday to the fullest giving God the glory each day. I hope they will make an impact on others around them to ensure they leave this planet a better place to live when they are gone than it was when they got here.
How were you personally impacted by working on this project? Writing this book opened my eyes to a much larger global picture. It has allowed me to be featured on news stories and television shows. I have been given many opportunities to speak at church and school functions and influence future generations.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? I enjoy listening to Christian radio and reading books about ordinary people experiencing God in their daily lives. The Bible is my favorite history book and I read it daily.
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: The Gift, The Faith Journey of a Street Cop was written by a police officer but was not intended just for law enforcement. It was written by an ordinary man intended for ordinary people to discover the promise of our extraordinary God!
