Publisher's Description

Discover the truths of the Reformation in this special pack, which includes all five books in the Five Solas Series: Christ Alone (Stephen Wellum), Faith Alone (Thomas Schreiner), God's Glory Alone (David VanDrunen, God's Word Alone (Mathew Barrett), Grace Alone (Carl Trueman).

Historians and theologians alike have long recognized that at the heart of the sixteenth-century Protestant Reformation were five declarations (or "solas") that distinguished the movement from other expressions of the Christian faith.

Five hundred years later, we live in a different time with fresh challenges to our faith. Yet these rallying cries of the Reformation continue to speak to us, addressing a wide range of contemporary issues. The Five Solas series will help you understand the historical and biblical context of the five solas and how to live out the relevance of Reformation theology today.

A Great Resource Series for the Serious Christian

    Quality: 5

    Meets Expectations: 5
This series assumes two things: a belief in reformed Christianity; a desire to dig deeper into each of the five great Solas (historical background, Biblical basis, how the five are integrated as the basis for Reformed Christianity, etc.) If you read these modest length volumes and have struggled with some modernistic arguments that would denigrate the Bible or dilute the absolute nature of Jesus Christ as a person of the Trinity and THE savior, these books may help you get you back to what the Reformers worked so hard to accomplish. If you read these volumes from a position of not knowing much about the Solas, these volumes will give you both a solid foundation for your Christian faith and useful knowledge that you can apply to your daily life.

The other great thing about this series is that, despite its theological arguments and historical analyses, it is quite readable. These volumes are not 1400 page tomes with hundreds of footnotes and references. But, if you read them prayerfully and thoughtfully, you'll be as well-versed about the Solas as most pastors and (likely) a good number of seminary professors. I wish I had been able to read these books 50 years ago!
