All though I never purchased this book from Cristianbook.com I feel I must leave a review. I highly recommend this book a story from Peter's point of view, a story of Jesus and his apostles. The miracles Jesus did, Jesus himself.
The Fisherman is the telling of Jesus ministry from the four gospels from Peters point of view.
The thing that I enjoyed most about this book was the fact that the author gave Peter, thoughts & emotions that everyone can understand & relate to. When you read in the gospels its very easy to overlook how Peter relates to Jesus, but in this book we also see stories & parables that are familiar to us, but the author adds some details that are from Peters point of view that for some readers will help round them out. I would like to point out that the author does not change any words of the gospels, but presents Peters point of view as a separate part of the story.
It was a different type of book, a style that Im not very familiar with so maybe thats why it peaked by interest and why I enjoyed the book so much.
Nice retelling of Peter's story with added emphasis on Peters feelings as he went through life as portrayed in the Bible. Other than the expansion of Peter's emotions it was little more than retelling the story from the Bible. I'm glad it was not unduly embellished. There were several times the author gave good insight into Peter's actions which broadened my biblical understanding, but I wish there had been more.
Pastor Huntsperger's book is a most enjoyable read

Pastor Huntsperger's narrative flows thoughtfully without a ripple! He offers a valuable perspective for those who care to empathize with the struggles non-Christians may wrestle with as they initially experience our Lord. He also provides in this novel valuable, practical insights to help evangelize to children as well as adults. I believe this is highly appropriate reading for teens and early adults. In fact I have purchased several copies to share.
