"The First Book of David" is a unique novel which brings to life one of the greatest men who ever lived-David the King of Israel. It movingly takes one back in time to see the mighty man and his world through the eyes of his contemporaries, some of which are; Samuel, Abner, Michal, Abishai, Abiathar, even Goliath's armor bearer. It answers why David is so endearingly referred to as 'a man after God's own heart'. Though we know the story, "The First Book of David" is hard to put down.

Tell us a little about yourself. I have been in the Ministry for a little over forty years, thirty of that as a pastor. I have traveled and ministered in all 50 states and over 20 nations in behalf of the Kingdom of God. I am Senior Pastor at Inland Lighthouse Church, Rialto, CA. and have been for the past 16 years.
What was your motivation behind this project? That this book would be an intriguing and informative blessing to the reader. I have written it for that purpose, as well as to relieve me of the burden of a story that has burned in my heart, off and on, for over thirty years.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? King David and his world was real. It was as existent as yours and mine is today. David and his contemporaries, lived, breathed, laughed, wept, loved, hated, and, well were a lot like you and me. The human condition has not changed over the centuries. Only our gadgets (be they large or small) have affected the changes that make Davids world different from ours. Our hopes, fears and tears are based on the same emotions and needs that have always blessed or plagued mankind. As David, in spite of his humanity walked with God--so may we in this 21st Century.
How were you personally impacted by working on this project? As I worked out the characters that inhabited David's world, I realized that all of their (actual)stories, were as real and almost, if not, as important as David's. I've come to believe that a pretty interesting book could be written about each of them, and therefore, most of us as well.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? I have been honored and blessed by the lives of truly great and kind people throughout my life, especially my Christian life. they ALL have inspired me. As for secular authors who have inspired me, my tastes are pretty eclectic. But I would have to say; James Michener, Scott Peck, Maurice Samuels (Certain People of the Book), Victor Hugo, Robert Caro, Mark Twain, John Grisham and Harper Lee. As for Spiritual authors, ANY writer of Old or New Testament; especially John, and the writer of First and Second Samuel.
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: The life of this mesmerizing man, David, has utterly intrigued me and will continue to do so until the day, when I, like him, will have to be remembered.
