How can we obtain creative spiritual energies to meet the challenges in life we all face? The bible has the answer. Using St. Paul's metaphor of the "Eyes of the Heart" in his letter to the Ephesians as a psycho-spiritual approach to the study of spirituality, the author unraveled the spirituality of St. Paul, St. Peter and St. James in the New Testament and that of King Saul, King David and the prophet Jonah in the Old Testament. The study showed how the success and failures of these men were intimately related to how they handled the challenges of the psycho-spiritual themes in their lives. The spirituality of these men further reminds us to pay attention to our own spirituality. They served to emphasize the critical importance of maintaining a continual spiritual relationship with Christ as the path to a powerful, rich and effective Christian spiritual life. Albert C.
