Melissa5 Stars Out Of 5A Treat for the MindApril 9, 2019MelissaQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This review was written for The Edge of Over There.I started this book knowing I didn't read the first one and trying to come at it and take it all in.
Even though there was much I didn't understand because I didn't read the first book, I really liked this book. It is very different. My brain never got bored trying to connect dots and make sense of what was going on.
I think I would have liked the book even more if I had read the first one but even so I couldn't put this book down and looked forward to when I could get back to it.
If you like things that are different, and other-worldly I think you will thoroughly enjoy this book.
A copy of this book was given to me through the publisher. All opinions are my own. * -

I read The Day the Angels Fell a few months ago, and was eager to read The Edge of Over There. This tale of spiritual warfare is one of the most creative stories I've read, and I look forward to much more from this talented author! I'm happy I have hardcover copies of these books. They will be passed on to my grandchildren. Don't let the YA label fool you! These books are incredibly fast paced and deeply creative. I'm 70 years old and loved them both!
The Edge of Over There is an allegorical tale, illustrating the strong forces between good and evil, and the quest for immortality. Characters are strong and unforgettable, and the settings are descriptive and detailed. The imagery the author uses is very creative and poetic. I will be reading these books again. The layers of these two novels are deep, and warrant a second or even third read. Brilliant! -

Both books in the series have been fantastic. I dont understand why anyone would want to live forever. I would have to help Abra destroy the tree of life. I do understand wanting to use it to make someone healthy again but not to live forever. This has a lot of twists and turns. I received a copy of this book from Revell for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will.

Benjamin LilesMarble Falls, TXAge: 35-44Gender: Male5 Stars Out Of 5The Edge is HereJuly 30, 2018Benjamin LilesMarble Falls, TXAge: 35-44Gender: MaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This review was written for The Edge of Over There. One thing I will say for Shawn Smucker is that in regards to his book The Edge of Over There the lines are blurred between the forces of good and evil. Unlike others who have read the previous book in this series, I have not been able to read the previous book, so I couldn't gauge whether or not the continuation between The Day the Angels Fell and his latest book, Edge.
On another note is that I can tell you for sure is that this book will grip you and give you everything you need: a non-stop, gut-wrenching turn for twist and a half of action. I have read many books for a while now and this book kept me up to get it read on time, and thus giving you a review worth reading here.
And this is my consensus here: read this latest book by Shawn Smuckers. You won't be disappointed in this series he started. He's a great author who deserves his weight among other greats in terms of his writing ability. He should be listed in the same group of men and women who have written great books over the last fifty or sixty years, such as Madeleine L'Engle, C.S. Lewis, and Tolkien. Granted I don't always like reading such books, but this one got my attention and /i hope it will get yours as well.
I received this complimentary from Revell for a good and fair review of this book.
