This is a truly inspirational, life-affirming, heartwarming example of second chances in healing, love, trust, redemption, forgiveness, and the gift of prayer. Ive come to expect no less from Missy Tippens an accomplished author and ministers wife with long experience in assisting in Gods work. Of all the Love Inspired authors, I believe I look forward most to each new Tippens romance. While the time between books seems to stretch out forever, I seem to gobble up each new book on its first day of release! But then, the long wait for the next Tippens starts all over again. However, I cant help myself. I just love her books and uniquely loving voice.
Indeed, if you love the heartwarming joy of reading second chance romances, as much as I do, then you should delight in this story which features second chances in love, redemption, and forgiveness for Remy, Remys parents, Violet, Violets parents, and Jake all inspired because of the love for an adorable fatherless new born infant!
Here is a story so rich in depth that five different lives obtain a second chance at happiness because of the courageous decisions of each of the characters. It has been years since Ive felt as good reading a romance as I felt reading "The Doctor's Second Chance". (The doctor, by the way, is the heroine. Did you think otherwise? I must admit, I did.)
Requiring second chances for five different people necessitates quite a bit of dysfunction among the parties. And dysfunction there is. All this conflict generates plenty of page-turning interest. "The Doctor's Second Chance" is not just an 'I couldn't put it down' romance; it's an 'I couldn't even think about putting it down' reading experience. For example:
Jake, the hero, has a history of dating women he would never marry. He is shy of being burned in love given his childhood experiences. Violet, the heroine, was forced into a heart wrenching decision by her parents in high school which severed their relationship for years. Remy, the baby mother, has the troubled past of breaking her wonderful parents' hearts.
Into this sea of dysfunction drops an adorable infant right on the bachelor's 'doorstep'. Why him? Because the mother, his cousin, sees him as the only responsible and trustworthy adult in her life.
Truly, the conflict in "The Doctor's Second Chance" runs deep. At first it seems unlikely to ever be untangled. But then this is an inspirational romance. The reader expects a miracle. That's the real fun in reading such romances.
Did I say I love the authors voice? Let me give a little sample below. (The heroine is in church and the hero cant keep his eyes off her.)
He glanced over. Violet looked lovely with colored light from the stained glass window beaming on her shiny ebony hair and smooth, pale shoulder.
I just love the image of colored light from the stained glass windows lighting up the heroine for the hero while the setting in a church is firmly evidenced. This is just wonderful writing which also reflects back on the hero's emotional state on seeing the heroine in a new light. The author's voice is this rich from start to finish of this book.
5 Star Enjoyment!
