Debra BrinkmanYoder, COAge: 45-54Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5September 22, 2010Debra BrinkmanYoder, COAge: 45-54Gender: femaleWhat a fantastic book. What I love: * detailed pictures. Lots and lots of details. My 4 and 6 year olds loved the details too. * each spread in the first part of the book contains about three verses from Genesis 1 and 2. In total, it is all but four verses of Genesis 1, and four verses from Genesis 2. * The Bible is quoted in King James Version, which isn't my favorite version, but it isn't modernized or dumbed-down. And my 6 year old loved that it treated him like a "big boy." * The commentary that follows the scripture is also not dumbed down. On the animals page, for instance, the text talks about how animals move ("stomp, hop run, jump, crawl, walk, and swim"). And it talks about the thousands of animals and a million kinds of insects. This gave my kids plenty to think about. * The second section of the book consists of a paragraph or two of information on twenty amazing creatures. Packed with facts, even my big kids (up to age 13) enjoyed these few pages. * The final section of the book takes you through Psalm 139. * My big boys (ages 9, 11, and 13) don't get bored reading a page or two aloud to their younger siblings.Disclaimer: I received this book for free from New Leaf Publishing Group. No other compensation was received.

Bethany Fleishour5 Stars Out Of 5December 30, 2009Bethany FleishourIf you are looking for a book to engage your child and tell God's story of creation, look no further. Helen & David Haidle have written, "The Creation story for Children" that captures the beauty of God's creation through pictures and God's word. Some of the pages are also fun to use as a "seek and find" because there are so many pictures used to show what God created on each day.I am encouraged that the authors stick close to God's word and not just another paraphrase of the Genesis creation account. At the end of the book, they go through amazing creatures, amazing senses, amazing shapes and colors in depth and show animals in each category. I really love this book and highly recommend you add this to your library. It will be the only creation book you will need to teach your children the truth about God's creation.

Helen Haidle5 Stars Out Of 5October 17, 2009Helen HaidleI am the author of this book. My husband spent over 10 months illustrating it. We wanted to "create" an exciting visual presentation of God's great creation story in Genesis 1, and make the animals, fish, and birds actually look happy and excited! And we wanted to connect each child to this awesome God of Creation by adding in extra pages on Psalm 139 so they will understand more of what God means in their life: that God made them individually, is with them at all times, knows everything about them, hears every word & thought, numbers their days, thinks about them all the time, and has a special purpose for their lives. I really enjoyed writing this book and I pray it will bless all the children (and parents) who read it.

Melissa5 Stars Out Of 5I love it, kids love itDecember 15, 2016MelissaQuality: 4Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I love this book so much. I bought one for each of my siblings households, my own, and I keep them on hand for gifts! My nieces and nephew adore this book, all under 6 at this point, but there is plenty more for them to grow into. They often come greeting me with this book in hand! No prompting from me. We never really "read" through the whole thing but get "stuck" on certain pages. They love the illustrations and picking out patterns and the variety of animals and plants. It has brought up so many wonderful conversations. The Psalms section has spoken to my 3 year old nephew! He gets so excited saying that he came from mommy's belly and so did his siblings, even the one on the way! Dinosaurs are integrated into the illustrations! Love love love it. The KJV is a bit much for kids but I can understand using it on some levels. I could go on.... I'm back buying more copies because I've just given away my last extra copy.

Katie5 Stars Out Of 5December 20, 2009KatieThis book is absolutely wonderful. It gives a wonderful true to text of the bible story of creation, with dynamic art work. I am purchasing my third copy, and am thinking of purchasing extra's just to have on hand. Great work! I encourage parents and grandparents alike to purchase it for their young people.
