I really like the book as far as presenting short (20pgs) but good information about each part of the world. We had covered Europe, North America, South America, and Mexico by the time I got this, but for Japan, New Zealand and Australia, I have been pleased. The only draw back to the book is that they use C.E. (Common Era or Christian Era) instead of A.D. It also has boxes in chapters with other info. Sometimes this is climate information, or information about an endangered animal. BUT, sometimes it's about global warming-which if you believe that it's ok, if not, then it something you need to either skip or have a frank discussion about why you disagree. Personally we will skip the last part (PART 5) because it's about "Coping with Population Growth", "Saving our Planet's Atmosphere", and Meeting the Energy Needs and the Water Challenge". I haven't read these yet, but they are probably quite liberal in message. SO, we'll see. Otherwise a good book and what I have been looking for all year!
