This book was out of print for years. In November of 2008, Kregel began publishing it again. While it was out of print, used copies of this paperback were selling on the internet for $400! A new copy for $27 from CBD is a very good deal. Many years ago, the title was The Student's Commentary.I believe this to be the best complete Bible commentary in existence. I am not the only one who thinks highly of it. This is the only commentary recommended by TV Bible-teacher Les Feldick and the late Pastor C. R. Stam (author of Things That Differ and many others, brother of Chinese missionary martyr John Stam, and founder of Berean Bible Society). It is very precise, distinguishing well the things of Israel from the things of the church the body of Christ. Some today would call this a "mid-Acts dispensational" view of Scripture.Whatever you call it, Williams did a wonderful job of illuminating Scripture by the light of Scripture, exegeting difficult passages and of making sense out of passages that often elicit confusion. One could comb through and find points of disagreement, but such is the nature of Bible commentary. This is a technical, detailed commentary for the serious student. It is not a watered-down, broad-brush type of commentary. It's too bad it doesn't come in hardback.
