The Columbus Code" by Mike Evans is a conspiracy novel that follows the myths and truths of Christopher Columbus. John Winters is a Secret Service agent on leave with PTSD. His mother has recently died and when going through her estate he discovers that he is most likely a descendant of Columbus and his mother's dying wish was to prove the link. During his research he meets Sophia, a scholar, that leads him to the legend of the diary of Columbus and the global rule of one man. Coincidently, Maria, John's daughter, is working for a law firm that has taken her to Spain into the lion's den of the very man plotting to take over the world. The antichrist.

Going into this book I quickly realized that I knew little about Columbus. Other that he "discovered America" and supposedly had a venereal disease, I knew nothing. This book dives into the rest of it. I am not sure how much is true. I know that he kept diaries, but since I was informed about this in a documentary about alien chasers; I am pretty sure they aren't secret. As far as writing goes, Evans has a journalist background and is a Middle East analyst, so it takes on political angle. Evans is able to go back and forth with telling the story between male and female characters well. The ending reads like a part two will be coming. I will definitely be reading that. I received this book in exchange for an honest review from Worthy Publishing.

What would you do if you found out you were related to Christopher Columbus and were the only one that could solve a mystery. This includes many adventures with John Wintes, a secret service agent, his daughter, Maria, and Sophia. This was a great story. i look forward to many more adventures with these three characters and hope to find out if they can figure out how close they really are to Columbus. I received this book from worthy publishing for a fair and honest opinion.

With past and present colliding, author Mike Evans shares an epic puzzle surrounding famous adventures of Christopher Columbus on the high-seas. When John Winters, an American Secret Service agent, decides to research his roots back to Christopher Columbus, he discovers much more than he bargained formuch more. With fast-paced action, high drama, dangerous turmoil, bits of history and riveting ideas, The Columbus Code voyages through non-stop waters

A new author for me but obviously a well-known New York Times best-selling author, I found Mike Evans newest book to be quite the entertaining read. Though the book was not necessarily overly embroiled with Christopher Columbus directly, I found the concept compelling for a novel. Similarly compared to The DaVinci Code (which I have not personally read), The Guardian or even the movie National Treasure, The Columbus Code was a nice mix of history and present-day which made the book very readable. As an award-winning journalist and Middle East analyst as well as a best-selling author, Mike Evans is well-written in this intriguing, gripping novel.

Mike Evans in his new book, The Columbus Code published by Worthy Publishing introduces us to John Winters, descendant of Christopher Columbus.

From the back cover: In 1492 Christopher Columbus bore a secret agenda as he set out with his tiny fleet to discover a New World. What was that startling truth?

The Columbus Code is just that the true, historical puzzle few could comprehend until today. Consistent with great historical fiction of our time, New York Times best-sell author Mike Evans pens a story replete with intrigue, adventure, and brutal persecution. The story begins with John Winters, an American Secret Service agent, who unravels centuries old truths about Christopher Columbus and the real drama that lay behind those famous voyages to the Americas.

There is a secret society that is putting in place a plan to destroy the American dollar and financially rule the world. John Winters went to Barcelona to continue the genealogical research his mother had begun before she died that they are direct descendants of Christopher Columbus. He teams up with his estranged lawyer daughter and, together, they are on the run. Their quest to stop the Society before they get killed will take them from Spain to Israel and back to the U.S. Mr. Evans has loaded his book with political intrigue, suspense and a very clever puzzle. John Winters and his daughter, Maria, are very complex characters that we come to care deeply about and want them to succeed. Plus their lives are in very great danger as this is a page-turning thriller. This book will keep you reading as fast as you can to find out what will happen next. You wont be disappointed I assure you.

This novel is very entertaining but I would encourage readers to check the accuracy of some of the statements in the novel. We must remember, this is fiction.

The plot is something like a Dan Brown thriller. A Secret Service Agent, John Winters, is on administrative leave because of an operation that went very wrong. He finds out at his mother's death that she believed they are descendants of Christopher Columbus. She has left him her information with the request to pursue the genealogical connection. Winters goes to Barcelona and connects with a beautiful academic specialist on Columbus and both look for a secret journal Columbus wrote.

A secret society wants to financially control the world. They must get control of that journal and its revelations at all cost, including murder. Embroiled in the adventure is Winters' somewhat estranged daughter, Maria, also in Barcelona as a legal aid working on a business deal with a conglomerate controlled by the most powerful member of the nefarious secret society.

On the positive side, the plot is a reasonable one about the Antichrist attempting to financially take over the world. There is lots of action and intrigue in this novel. It is a page turner. The characters are well developed and realistic.

On the negative side, I don't like it when a novel mixes truth with speculation. The novel suggests Columbus was at least half Jewish, something I did not know but many apparently think this the case. Columbus wrote prophecies later in life and the novel makes use of them. It also makes use of the 2014-2015 tetrad (four lunar eclipses on Jewish holy days). But this is where caution needs to be applied. Hirsch, a secondary character, says, The tetrad [Columbus] experienced while on his first voyage was, in fact, the first tetrad following the destruction of the Temple. (264) A web search shows that there were apparently several tetrads between the destruction of the Temple in 70 AD and Columbus' voyage (162-163 AD, 795-796 AD, 842-842 AD, 860-661 AD). I don't like that. I like it much better if authors are accurate when their characters make those kinds of statements.

This is an exciting novel dealing with prophecies potentially for our current time, especially since there has been much written about the 2014-2015 blood moons. End times prophecy buffs will like it. I would remind readers that this is fiction, as have been all previous predictions of the rise of the Antichrist.

I received a complimentary digital copy of this book from the publisher for the purpose of an independent and honest review.
