LadyLiberTEA4 Stars Out Of 5Good Acting On Heavy SubjectsJanuary 11, 2017LadyLiberTEAQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5A wholesome family drama though daring heavy subjects of loss and a sad reminder of America's broken-home culture & neglected/endangered children, this manages to be an attractive film of hope & encouragement about caring community including those who are more fortunate, with the plus of a slight Christmas theme adding a bit of joy to the dramas well performed by good actors even the little girl. And unlike so many Christmas movies, this one has some real snow & outdoor scenes.
I'm a fan of actress Madeleine Stowe stunningly memorable in one of America's best recreated historical films "The Last of the Mohicans" with Daniel Day Lewis, glad to see her aging so beautifully and playing a well-groomed & disciplined woman maintaining a beautiful home & caringly working as a CPS social worker since her son grown. Both her co-worker & her travelling businessman husband are manly & sensitive, and the actor her husband is up to her mettle. A fatherless teen boy convincing, but I'd have preferred variety in the casting of the grandmother recycled from other TV movies. The sweet little girl is better than most child actors, easier in an older TV movie not requiring as spirited & sassy as a thoroughly modern Abigail Breslin.
Like other Christmas movies, I'll watch this only once. But unlike most, this one I'll pass along to family/friends instead of donating to Salvation Army or discarding the latest ones when culturally &/or spiritually degraded.

Speedy5 Stars Out Of 5Despair need not be the norm for any person especially on a very family-oriented holiday. Hope is necessary to meet each day!January 29, 2015SpeedyQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Love is not bound by blood ties and by extending love to others provides hope for a better future. This is shown by a number of individuals who are suffering from loneliness and/ or guilt but find redemption in helping others. This is another movie we have watched about 3 times since it came in the mail about 2 weeks ago!
